Mercurial Mother Nature, Summer Hail Storm

The Summer Storm

I had to wonder, What the "hail" is this? I listened to the crashing and banging sounds on the roof our home. The frozen ice chunks fell viciously from the sky to the ground.

I was worried about the horses, they ran into the tree line instead of seeking shelter in the barn. When they emerged, they were covered with ice, but unharmed.

This is how much ice accumulated on the ground after the storm was over.  It was just another summer day in Montana.
