Welcome to modern life in the wild west. I'm Nancy Quinn, an author and wildlife artist. I live with my family-husband, daughters, dogs, and horses, on a rural mountain in Montana. My neighbors are grizzly bears, cougars, wolves, coyotes, and a host of other wildlife. I share our experiences through my books, art, and YouTube videos, as well as a radio program. Come west with us, enjoy, animal encounters, baking, gardening, crafts, and more.
How do you celebrate May Day? Fun Historical Facts
Wishing you all a happy May Day, even if you don't celebrate it with hares and goats. 😊
**A little history of May Day. . .
The earliest known May celebrations appeared with the Floralia festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers, held from 27 April – 3 May during the Roman Republic era. The Floralia opened with theatrical performances, and during the celebration, hares and goats were released as part of the festivities.
